What places are in the box?
Each box contains 50 unique adventures. Some are iconic attractions and others are hidden gems. Some are very physical and others are very soft, such as roaming a spectacular museum. We’ve tried to vary the locations to cover as much of the province as possible.
For the Alberta Must-Do Adventure list, you’ll find destinations such as Edmonton, Calgary, Smoky Lake, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Banff National Park, Jasper National Park, Clearwater County, Crowsest Pass, Kananaskis, and more!
Is this good for families?
Yes! All of our must-do adventure boxes are designed to be enjoyed by families, couples, friends, and solo adventurers alike. Whether you're looking for activities to do with your kids or fun experiences to share with a friend, you'll find plenty of options on the list. However, please note that not every adventure will be suitable for all. For example, a very young child cannot go white water rafting. The adventures are varied in nature and difficulty, so you’ll have to look at the icons to determine what might be best for your specific situation. You may also be able to modify some of the adventures to make them more age-appropriate or accessible. Get creative and have some fun!
Are there adventures for each season?
Yes, we’ve made sure that each box set has adventures to be enjoyed year-round. To help you plan your adventures, the icons at the bottom of each card indicate which season the activity is best suited for. This makes it easy to find adventures that are perfect for the time of year you're visiting. Typically, there are more adventures in the warmer months.
Are the adventures pre-paid or discounted?
No, none of the adventures are prepaid or discounted. There might come a time when the companies give our customers some sort of promotional offer, but as of now, these cards are designed to give you an idea as to what to do. However, we’ve made sure to include activities for all budgets. Some are free, some are low-cost, and some are more expensive.
How does it work?
The must-do adventure box is a deck of 50 cards, each featuring a unique adventure within the province or city. Each card is labelled with the name of a city or area to indicate where the adventure takes place. At the bottom of each card, some icons provide additional details about the adventure, including its price range, duration, recommended time of day, and season. To discover the adventure, simply scratch off the card. For more information on the adventure and how to book it, scan the QR code on the card with your phone. Are the adventures suitable for all ages and skill levels?
Our Canadian must-do adventure lists are primarily designed for individuals who are active, adventurous, and ready to embrace exciting challenges and activities. If you’re planning to explore with very young children, seniors, or individuals who have physical limitations, you might need to skip a few activities or get a little creative in modifying them to make them more accessible for everyone in your group. Although some adventures might be visiting a museum or something more low-key, many involve physical activity of some sort.
Do I need to plan ahead, or can I just show up in the city and scratch off the card?
While some of the adventures can be done spontaneously, we recommend scratching off the card several hours or days before you plan to do the activity. This way, you can be prepared if you need to make reservations or make modifications. Some activities may have limited availability or require advanced booking, so it's always a good idea to check the details and plan ahead as needed. However, many of the adventures can be enjoyed with little planning, so you can still have a fun and spontaneous experience while exploring
Can I purchase the adventure boxes as a gift?
Absolutely. Our must-do adventure boxes are the perfect gift for anyone you think would like to explore the province. While we currently can't add a gift note to the package, we do send out our packages in unbranded boxes, so the recipient won't see any branding on the outside of the box. This makes it a great option for surprising your loved ones with a fun and unique adventure experience in their area. Absolutely! Although we’ve explored Canada quite extensively (and continue to do so), we understand that there’s no way we can see it all. Can I complete the adventures in any order or do I have to follow a specific sequence?
Yes, the cards are not in any specific order. Due to the different seasons, costs, and other factors, we recommend simply sifting through the cards to find an adventure that suits the specific time you’re looking to go. The icons on the cards will help you.
Are there any digital or online resources available to supplement the bucket list adventures, such as maps or additional information about the locations and activities listed?
Yes. Each card has a unique QR code that you scan with your phone. This will redirect you to our award-winning travel website, which will give you more information about the activity, contact information, and even a handy hotel map, which features affiliate links to hotels, lodges, or bnbs close to the adventure.
While the QR code is not required to complete the adventure, it can be a useful supplement for those who want more information or guidance.
How long does it typically take to complete all the adventures?
This is impossible to say. Depending on your availability, budget, and travel spirit, it could take anywhere from a many months to several years. These adventures are not designed to be rushed, so take it at your own pace and just have a great time!
